thats outta my favorite hard core pac song ever, Can't C Me. He was referring to the earlier shooting before the '96 shooting i believe.

No, I think he is just saying that the shooting was one of the reasons he went to Death Row, and with going to Death Row, he was obviously going to "get his rhymes with Dre."
