I was listenin to some Pac songs and this one came on( god bless the dead). the 1st paragraph or whatever was tupac an he said "Rest in peace to my motherfuckin Biggie Smalls
That's right bwoy, it's goin on, right here
Thug Life.. God bless the dead"
but as biggie died 6 months after how could 2pac have made a song bout his death. in the song tupac also shows some sorta friendliness to biggie not like ima kill u etc
could someone please explain this

"
Shock G
" from "
Digital Underground
" said
Pac
made it, and said if this happens, then release this track, or if this happens then release this track etc... So basically if
B.I.G.
died after him (
Pac
) then release the track.
"Shock G"
says it on "Thug Angel"...
Also it's been said before, that Pac made the track cuz, there was another Biggie Smalls, a rap promoter from L.A. that's why B.I.G. didn't use the name from the beginning of his career. But the rap promoter Biggie smalls died, so then B.I.G. took up the name.
Hope that helps

"
God Bless The Dead
" wasn't released though until after Pac passed, (Greatest Hits) & B.I.G.'s "
Ready To Die
" was released in 1994...

Registration Number: SRu-442-788 Title: God bless the dead.
Description: Compact disc.
Claimant: (p) Estate of Tupac Shakur
Created: 1996
Registered: 4Jan00
Author on © Application: performance, recording: Tupac Shakur , 1971-1996.
Miscellaneous: C.O. corres.
Special Codes: 7/U
It says that it was recorded in 1996, so I assume that the beef was still on while he recorded this, which would explain this line...
"For spunk is what he had, kid, I'd ratha attack Big"
- "Big" = Notorouis
So I doubt this was to Notoruis, I heard that it was recorded for another "Biggie Smalls"...I forget which one tho, maybe someone else could help you out on that.
Peace.

"Drew, it also says that it was registered in Jan. 2000, how can that be when it was released in 98? maybe there info is outta whack."
- A possible expanation is that it was remaster or remixed or somthing in which it was not in its original state casing the copyroight to be nill? I am not sure tho.
"stretch is on that song, didnt stretch die in 95? what, now he faked his death too? "
- Again probably added a couple lines or added beats or somthing... ?

I just want to point out that Shock said Because Pac was a prethinker he PROBABLY had a plan a, plan b, etc. stressing what to do if he died. This is no necessarily what happen, the key word is PROBABLY meaning that's pure speculation on Shock G and no one can say that Tupac handled things that way. Again the power of suggestion outweighs reality.

Shock G knew Tupac on a personal level, we do not, therefore I would take his theories a little more serouisly than a fan's. Know what I mean?

Speculation is speculation, what do any of us really know about Shock G and his motives.
I just saying that once I thought is placed in our minds we repeact it as thought, rather than speculation or a theory. If you re-read the opening topic/post you will see that this person is stating it as if it were fact.

Yeh, I heard that song a while ago and thought the same thing to myself, but from what I've heard, Stretch and Pac's friend who's name was coincidentally Biggie Smalls got murdered before they wrote that song. Hard to beleive but that's the only explanation I can come to, cuz Stretch died before Pac 'died' and I don't think there's a chance they could have set it up like that...
Peace

The song must have come from before the beef with BIG, and before stretch died. The beat sounds like it came from close to the ThugLife period, so it has to have been recorded before Pac got shot up the first time.

this line shows that it was made after stretch passed and so must have been made durin the beef with big
2pac:
Rest in peace to all the motherfuckas that passed too early
All the young motherfuckas that was took in they prime
Real motherfuckin Gz, this one is for you
Yo Stretch
i think he is referrin to stretch has passed here
so the song must have been made durin the beef with big or at least altered later
peace
