Tha Eastsidaz profit from squashing beef |
Snoop Dogg's gangsta rap trio from Long Beach, Tha Eastsidaz, is decked out in vintage mob vines on the cover of their sophomore release, Duces 'N' Trayz... The Old Fashioned Way. As the album's title implies, Duces 'N' Trayz is a throwback to the G-bangin' days of the late-80's and early to mid-90's.
The album is symbolic of the bond that has developed between group members Tray Dee and Goldie Loc -- both members of rival street gangs. The ability of the two men to settle their differences and work together to achieve loftier goals -- which include going platinum with Snoop Dogg Presents.. in 2000 and this year's No. 1 debut on Billboard's Top Independent Albums chart with Duces 'N' Trayz -- is a shining example of what unity can accomplish.
Goldie Loc was convinced that fans and other gang members would sense the positive vibe behind the record from the outset.
"Now that they see me, Snoop, and Tray Dee having fun together, it makes people that used to not like the whole situation want to have fun with us."
