DMX's unwelcome mat |
DMX is striking back with the force of a wet noodle. The rapper went to court Tuesday to face five counts of child endangerment and weapons offenses. But, the rapper says that the police illegally searched his home. Launch reports that police went to the rapper's home in June of 1999, while investigating the shooting of his manager, who was shot in the foot. Police found a purse containing DMX's wife, Tashera Simmons', I.D. at the scene of the shooting. Police then obtained a warrant and searched the rapper's home where they found a loaded 9mm, six used cocaine pipes, and what was noted as a large amount of ammunition. DMX and wife were indicted in August for the bust. But police also maintain that the couple's son and daughter were present while DMX went on a drug binge. Still, DMX's lawyers are prepared to fight the charges with the argument that the house was searched illegally.
